It is part of the Every Vote Counts! project, funded by the Electoral Commission.

It uses easy words and pictures to make the information on it easier to understand. We worked on this information with people with learning disabilities.

The website has lots of information about the Every Vote Counts! project so you can find out more about it.

If you would like to find something on this website quickly, you can use the sitemap.

The pages of the ‘What is politics? ’ information have a ‘listen’ button. This means you can hear the words on the page.
You can turn the sound on and off by clicking on the button.

We have explained some of the words we use in the ‘What is politics?’ information. These words are in blue.

If you click on a word in blue, the meaning appears underneath it. If you click on the green arrow or the words ‘Go back up to word’, the meaning goes away.
We have tried to make this website accessible to as many people as possible. The website has been built using XHTML and CSS with some JavaScript.

If the meanings of the words in the ‘What is politics’ section are always on the page, this is because you have JavaScript turned off.
If you can't access the video and audio on this website, make sure you have Flash installed and JavaScript turned on.
